Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Location: Weston, Florida 33331, a welcoming, master-planned South Florida community known for its green spaces and convenient access to Fort Lauderdale and Miami
• Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week
• Shift: 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Call: One call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month; final details discussed during the interview
• Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Department: Operating Room, transplant-focused service
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• OR Resources: 18 operating rooms with an average daily census of approximately 55–60 cases
• Charting: Epic electronic health record
• Orientation: Approximately 40 hours, including required EKG and pharmacology assessments
• Additional Expectations: Willingness to float within scope of practice and participate in the education of students and new staff

Transplant Operating Room RN Requirements

• Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of direct liver transplant or transplant Operating Room experience
• Strong, recent experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplantation
• Demonstrated experience placing transplanted organs into recipients; procurement-only experience does not meet the requirement
• Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA
• Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross at the time of submission
• NIHSS certification required before the start date
• Florida RN license or eligible licensure; pending license consideration may be available
• Working knowledge of Epic or a comparable electronic health record system preferred
• Willingness to complete required pre-start and annual learning modules, typically totaling 6–15 hours
• Ability to complete required orientation assessments; each assessment allows a maximum of two attempts
• Compliance with required immunizations, occupational health screening, and nicotine-free workplace standards
• Two professional references from a direct supervisor, manager, assistant nurse manager, or unit director
• All requested time off must be disclosed before submission

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, skilled perioperative nursing care for complex transplant and general surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, supplies, and medications according to procedure-specific requirements
• Support liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant implantation procedures from preparation through completion
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and the broader multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Apply strong clinical knowledge of general OR procedures, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Whipple procedures, organ donation, specimen handling, and wound management
• Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, universal protocol, time-out procedures, fire safety, and laser safety standards
• Use specialized equipment and technologies, including Misonix/CUSA, electrosurgical units, fiber-optic light sources, Steris systems, and specialty surgical tables
• Accurately label, secure, and transfer specimens in accordance with established protocols
• Participate in scheduled call coverage and weekend coverage
• Support a positive learning environment by assisting with the training of students and new team members
• Float within the RN scope of practice when needed to support safe patient care and department operations
