Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: New Haven, Connecticut
• Start Date: October 23, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; weekend coverage includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2:1
• Floating: ICU and step-down/PCU within scope of practice
• Charting: Epic experience required
• Call: Not required

Travel ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent SICU or ICU nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Connecticut licensure may be considered, but an active Connecticut RN license is required before the start date
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent experience with Epic or a comparable electronic health record
• Demonstrated competency in airway management, ventilator care, IV drip management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Ability to manage a high-acuity surgical and critical-care patient population
• Flu vaccination required
• One professional reference required

SICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage ventilated patients, airway devices, chest tubes, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines
• Titrate vasoactive medications, continuous sedation, insulin infusions, and other critical-care drips according to protocol
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and other relevant diagnostic findings
• Support patients experiencing acute stroke, renal failure, dysrhythmias, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer blood products and provide post-operative and surgical intensive-care interventions
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to the step-down/PCU area as needed while practicing within scope and maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
