Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift SICU RN requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior ICU experience for a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the SICU (Surgical ICU) of a short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Required to work every other weekend and float as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT State or Compact) required, must apply prior to submission as CT licensure takes 15-21 business days to issue
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required (2 years preferred, 1.5 years accepted with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring and emergency response, management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
