Travel Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week ICU travel nursing assignment
• Location: Kansas City, Missouri
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Unit: Adult Burn ICU with mixed ICU, PCU, telemetry, and medical-surgical acuity
• Patient Population: Adult critical care and burn patients; patient ratios vary by acuity
• Weekend Requirement: Three weekend shifts during each four-week scheduling period
• Floating: May float to like units, including ICU, PCU, and CCU
• Documentation System: Meditech

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure eligible for practice in Missouri
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIH certifications
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and critical care assessment skills
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of critical care infusions
• CRRT training or experience
• Burn nursing experience preferred
• ABLS certification preferred but not required
• Ability to provide respectful, patient-centered care and participate in bedside shift reporting
• Ability to wear navy blue scrub tops with navy blue or black scrub pants; scrub jackets are permitted

Burn ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult burn and critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU environment
• Monitor patients using cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, and advanced critical care technology
• Safely manage ventilated patients, invasive lines, chest tubes, and complex medication infusions
• Perform and assist with burn care procedures, including debridement, dressing changes, and post-procedure care
• Provide care related to line insertion, chest tube insertion and maintenance, and other critical care procedures
• Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate promptly with intensivists, burn surgeons, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team
• Use CRRT principles and hemodynamic monitoring techniques to support critically ill patients
• Complete accurate electronic documentation and maintain clear communication during bedside shift reports
• Support a teamwork-oriented, patient-focused unit culture while adapting to changing patient acuity
• Float to comparable critical care units when needed and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
