Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540
- Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Location: San Antonio, Texas 78249
- Schedule: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; rotating weekends; no call
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 23, 2026
- Work Setting: On-site, 9-bed emergency department
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 4 patients per registered nurse
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
- Attire: Navy blue scrubs
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
- At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
- Proficiency in triage, Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and emergency patient assessment
- Experience administering medications and managing critically ill patients
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced emergency care setting
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients across a range of acuity levels
- Perform timely triage and emergency assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) principles
- Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic response or adverse reactions
- Deliver trauma and stroke care, including emergency stabilization
- Perform IV insertion, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and other emergency department procedures
- Assist with moderate sedation according to established protocols
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate care team
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to promote safe, efficient patient flow
