Travel Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – 13-Week Contract in Camden, NJ

Join a high-acuity Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) team in Camden, New Jersey, as a travel ICU nurse providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients with complex neurological conditions. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers experienced Neuro ICU registered nurses the opportunity to care for patients recovering from stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurosurgery, brain tumors, and seizures. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: January 25, 2027
• Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Neuro ICU Unit: 18-bed Neuro ICU with an average daily census of approximately 12 patients
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2 on nights
• Float Expectations: Float between ICU and PCU and among affiliated hospitals in the surrounding region based on staffing needs
• Scheduling: Block scheduling is not available
• Time-Off Requests: Requested time off must be submitted with the application; time off during the first week is not available

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience, preferably within the last 12 months
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand at submission
• Proficiency caring for patients with stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, brain tumors, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Experience with EVDs, ICP monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, lumbar drains, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring
• Competency with continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, vasoactive drips, emergency medications, and dysrhythmia management
• Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia assessment within 72 hours of signing; up to two attempts are permitted
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Willingness to complete required pre-employment laboratories within 48 hours of signing
• Ability to meet fit-testing requirements before beginning work in the Neuro ICU

Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric neurological patients
• Monitor neurological status, intracranial pressure, hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, and changes in condition
• Care for patients following craniotomy, neurosurgery, stroke, and other complex neurological procedures
• Manage EVDs, lumbar drains, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and other critical-care equipment
• Titrate vasoactive infusions, continuous sedation, neuromuscular blockade, and other high-risk medications according to established protocols
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, neurological deterioration, and other clinical emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, rapid response, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Provide patient and family education, support, and clear communication throughout the plan of care
• Float to ICU and PCU assignments and other affiliated locations within the nurse's demonstrated skill set as needed
