Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
• At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing experience
• Recent Operating Room RN experience in a surgical services or perioperative environment
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to participate in on-call coverage
• Availability to work two of the following three major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day, plus one minor holiday

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process
• Prepare operating rooms, supplies, instruments, and equipment for scheduled surgical procedures
• Function effectively as a circulating nurse and support the surgical team as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the healthcare team
• Monitor patient condition, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and promote adherence to surgical safety and infection-control standards
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, surgical counts, specimen handling, and recovery coordination
• Respond to on-call needs and support variable operating room schedules
