Emergency Department Registered Nurse travel nursing contract in Asheville, NC, offering 13 weeks of high-acuity patient care, competitive weekly pay, and a collaborative team environment. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860–$1,960
- Assignment Dates: October 4, 2026–January 3, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Healthcare Setting: High-volume Emergency Department
- Electronic Medical Record: Cerner
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience; 2 years preferred
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before the start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work effectively in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Strong teamwork, communication, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
- Commitment to respectful, patient-centered care and clear communication
- Ability to wear required navy scrubs
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Care for a diverse patient population, including medical, behavioral health, trauma, and acute-care presentations
- Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, clerks, and other members of the care team
- Remain flexible and support all sections of the Emergency Department as patient-care needs change
- Perform assessments, administer medications, monitor patient status, and evaluate responses to treatment
- Use emergency nursing knowledge to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and keep patients and families informed throughout the visit
- Demonstrate AIDET principles, respectful behavior, and a consistent commitment to an excellent patient experience
- Participate in every-other-weekend coverage and department scheduling needs
