Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Join an on-site emergency department team in this vibrant Cape Cod community, known for its scenic coastline, historic harbor, beaches, and outdoor recreation. In this role, you will provide high-quality emergency patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patients and families through assessment, treatment, education, and discharge planning.
Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
- Healthcare Setting: On-site Emergency Room/Emergency Department
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and rotating holidays
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Successful completion of required pharmacology and basic arrhythmia examinations
- Demonstrated proficiency with IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- TNCC, ENPC, PALS, and approved de-escalation certification preferred
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Assess patients across physical, psychological, and social dimensions and contribute to individualized care and discharge plans
- Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
- Perform and document ongoing patient assessments, interventions, outcomes, and pertinent clinical information
- Provide patient and family education while maintaining clear communication with the interdisciplinary care team
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, ventilator care, and emergency nursing procedures
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards and patient safety practices
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including cardiac rhythm and respiratory status
- Support the orientation, education, and clinical development of nursing staff as a resource person
- Maintain confidentiality, follow blood and body fluid precautions, and promote service excellence for patients, families, visitors, and coworkers
- Participate in quality improvement, professional development, staff meetings, and required educational programs
