Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or acute care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to assess and prioritize patients in a fast-paced emergency care environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and critical-thinking skills
- Availability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts throughout the travel assignment
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity
- Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and promptly communicate changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely evaluation and patient disposition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with emergency nursing protocols
