Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- Strong patient assessment, triage, prioritization, and emergency response skills
- Ability to provide safe, efficient emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment
- Current clinical certifications required for the assignment and facility credentialing
- Successful completion of applicable onboarding, screening, and travel nurse credentialing requirements
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient responses to care and promptly communicate changes in condition
- Collaborate with emergency medicine providers and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment
- Assist with emergency interventions, procedures, and patient stabilization
- Provide clear patient and family education regarding treatment, discharge, and follow-up care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
