Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) travel contract supporting adolescent addiction recovery and behavioral health care in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

This onsite travel nurse opportunity is part of a specialized adolescent behavioral health and residential treatment program serving youth ages 15–18. Psychiatric Travel Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in adolescent psychiatric nursing or addiction care
- Current Colorado RN license through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
- Current Nursys license verification
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Current influenza vaccination required; no exemptions
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends
- Ability and willingness to participate in recreational and therapeutic activities with clients
- Completion of a fingerprint-based national criminal history check within 30 days before placement
- Traveler’s permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- CAPS registration and clearance may be required before placement
- Certification in addiction counseling is a plus
Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, age-appropriate nursing care to adolescents receiving treatment for addiction and mental health needs
- Monitor patient condition, behavior, safety, and response to treatment
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Complete nursing assessments, documentation, care planning, and patient education
- Collaborate with behavioral health providers and the interdisciplinary treatment team
- Support crisis prevention, de-escalation, and a safe therapeutic environment
- Encourage participation in structured programming, recreation, and recovery-focused activities
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the care team
- Promote dignity, respect, accountability, and positive coping skills throughout the patient experience
