Operating Room RN Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of recent operating room or perioperative nursing experience
• Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique, patient safety, and perioperative standards
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and maintain a 36-hour weekly schedule
• Successful completion of required credential verification, skills documentation, orientation, and facility onboarding
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Perioperative Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instruments according to procedure requirements
• Support circulating and/or scrub nurse functions based on experience, competency, and assignment
• Maintain strict sterile technique and monitor the surgical environment for patient safety
• Complete surgical counts, specimen handling, documentation, and required safety checks
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative healthcare team
• Monitor patient status, respond to changes promptly, and communicate relevant clinical information
• Promote a respectful, efficient, and patient-centered operating room experience
