Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,740–$1,840
- Location: Lubbock, Texas

- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Patient Population: Infants, children, and adolescents
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3–5
- Weekend Coverage: Approximately 5 weekend shifts during the 6-week scheduling period
- Call: May be required based on unit census
- Floating: May float between units within scope of practice
- Holiday Coverage: Travelers must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays when scheduled
Pediatric RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of registered nursing experience required
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Experience with Epic or another electronic health record system; Epic experience required for this assignment
- Competency with pediatric medication administration, feedings, oxygen delivery systems, isolation precautions, and central or implanted line care
- Ability to manage pediatric patients with varying acuity and safely float within scope of practice
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
Pediatric Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric hospital setting
- Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Administer medications, treatments, feedings, and therapies according to orders and pediatric best practices
- Monitor respiratory status and support patients requiring oxygen delivery systems or BiPAP/CPAP management
- Provide central line and implanted line care while maintaining strict infection-prevention standards
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and other clinical concerns
- Educate patients and families, including breastfeeding and breast milk handling support when appropriate
- Document nursing care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, therapy, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response resources
- Float to other pediatric units or nearby affiliated locations as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
