Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,740–$1,840
- Assignment Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 22, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Patient Population: Infants, children, and adolescents
- Unit: 35-bed pediatric unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:3–5
- Weekend Coverage: Five weekend shifts during the six-week scheduling period
- Floating: May float within the nurse’s scope of practice, including nearby sister facilities when needed
- Call: May be required based on unit census
- Orientation: 12 hours
Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
- Pediatric nursing or pediatric MedSurg experience preferred
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Texas; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Experience with Epic electronic health record charting required
- Strong pediatric assessment, medication administration, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to care for patients across infant, pediatric, and adolescent age groups
- Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years
Pediatric RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients during overnight shifts
- Complete comprehensive pediatric assessments, monitor patient conditions, and promptly identify changes in status
- Provide pediatric MedSurg care, including feedings, breast milk handling, and support for breastfeeding families
- Manage central and implanted lines, oxygen delivery systems, and BiPAP/CPAP therapies as indicated
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias while escalating concerns appropriately
- Apply isolation precautions and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) practices
- Support the care of patients with hyperbilirubinemia and other pediatric conditions
- Accurately document nursing care and clinical findings in Epic
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams
- Float within scope of practice and contribute to a flexible, team-oriented pediatric care environment
