Travel Operating Room RN (OR RN) – Circulating Nurse | Rockport, Maine

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,620–$2,760
• Assignment: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 18, 2026
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week, primarily days
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts, scheduled 7:00 AM–4:30 PM with a meal break
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirement: One weeknight call per week, approximately 4:30 PM–7:00 AM, plus one 48-hour weekend call approximately every 6–7 weeks based on staffing
• Healthcare Setting: On-site Operating Room in a 100-bed community hospital
• Patient Population: Surgical patients with typical 1:1 assignments
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of Operating Room circulating nurse experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience in a smaller facility or community hospital setting
• Experience across multiple surgical service lines
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Maine
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for call responsibilities
• Ability to work collaboratively, assist with operating room turnovers, and support team needs during periods of low census

Circulating Nurse Responsibilities

• Serve as the circulating nurse for surgical procedures and promote safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience
• Support procedures across multiple surgical service lines, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, OB/GYN, and ENT
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
• Complete preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing responsibilities in accordance with established standards
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and uphold surgical safety, sterile technique, and infection prevention practices
• Participate in required weeknight and weekend call coverage
• Assist with operating room turnovers and provide support to the broader surgical team when needed
• Deliver compassionate nursing care while contributing to a respectful, team-oriented workplace
