Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Milford, Connecticut

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department as a Travel Registered Nurse serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population. This 13-week travel nursing opportunity is based in Milford, Connecticut, a welcoming coastal community along Long Island Sound with convenient access to the greater New Haven area. First-time travelers are welcome to apply, and experienced emergency nurses will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills in a Level II trauma environment.

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Location: Milford, Connecticut
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
  • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
  • Start Date: October 30, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 29, 2027
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Care Setting: Short-term acute care hospital; combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department; Level II Trauma Center
  • Charting: EPIC electronic health record
  • Floating: Will float if needed
  • Travel Eligibility: Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the assignment location

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain one; candidates should begin the licensing process before submission
  • At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
  • Recent experience in a general Emergency Department caring for combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Proficiency with EPIC or another electronic health record system
  • Experience managing dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, ventilated patients, and CPAP/BiPAP
  • Experience with central line care and management, arterial line management, IV initiation, and phlebotomy
  • Strong triage, isolation precaution, and personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge
  • One professional reference required
  • First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
  • Flu vaccination is required

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric Emergency Department patients
  • Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and support effective emergency triage
  • Monitor and manage patients experiencing dysrhythmias, respiratory compromise, and other acute conditions
  • Care for ventilated patients and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapies
  • Administer and monitor IV vasopressors and other emergency medications
  • Start and maintain peripheral IVs and perform required phlebotomy procedures
  • Provide central line and arterial line care according to clinical standards
  • Apply appropriate isolation precautions and maintain compliance with PPE protocols
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support high-quality emergency care
  • Float to other areas when needed and contribute to a flexible, team-oriented environment
