Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620–$1,700
- Assignment Type: 13-week pediatric travel nursing assignment
- Assignment Dates: November 16, 2026 – February 15, 2027
- Location: Denver, Colorado
- Healthcare Setting: Pediatric step-down unit with 36 private rooms and parent sleeping accommodations
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour shifts; listed day shift is 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required; candidates new to travel nursing must be willing to work night shifts
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic-care patients
- Charting System: Meditech
Pediatric RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Colorado
- At least 1 year of current pediatric nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Comfort caring for pediatric patients requiring high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, and post-spinal-fusion care
- Ability to work independently while actively contributing to a collaborative pediatric care team
- Flexibility to work day or night shifts based on experience, staffing, and scheduling needs
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Pediatric Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric step-down and basic-care patients
- Monitor pediatric patients receiving high-flow oxygen and promptly recognize changes in condition
- Care for children recovering from spinal fusion procedures and those with chest tubes
- Perform and assist with common pediatric procedures, including NGTs, Foley catheters, feeding tubes, peripheral IVs, and phlebotomy
- Complete focused nursing assessments, medication administration, clinical documentation, and care coordination
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Support a positive pediatric unit culture by asking for help when needed and assisting teammates
- Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns according to clinical protocols
