Travel RN Job Details

- Setting: On-site maternity unit with approximately 32 beds
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 24, 2027
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: At least one to two weekends per month
- Holiday Requirement: No holidays
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3, with variation based on unit needs
- Interview Process: Virtual interview
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery or maternity nursing experience
- Experience providing postpartum, newborn, and antepartum care
- Antepartum monitoring experience
- Fetal monitoring experience; certification is not required
- Experience caring for mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process
- Ability to float to Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); experience in both areas is required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient education skills
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments, including fetal monitoring and interpretation within the scope of practice
- Support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
- Provide routine and specialized newborn care, including assessments, education, and monitoring
- Recognize changes in maternal or neonatal condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate providers
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to coordinate individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about recovery, newborn care, feeding, safety, and discharge preparation
- Float to Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as assigned
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination activities
- Promote patient safety, cultural sensitivity, emotional support, and positive birth experiences
