Med-Surg RN Job Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated trauma and post-operative nursing experience
• Ability to provide acute care nursing for adult patients with varied medical and surgical needs
• Willingness to float to units with comparable patient populations as needed
• Successful completion of required dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation assessments before beginning the assignment
• Completion of all required employment screenings and Pennsylvania clearances before the start date
• Professional appearance and a flexible, friendly, team-oriented approach

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and post-operative patients
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Care for patients with trauma, orthopedic, urologic, colorectal, and other surgical diagnoses
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and other clinical changes
• Collaborate with providers, therapists, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Support safe patient transitions, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Float to comparable units when needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
