Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
- Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care ICU, medical-surgical, and progressive-care environment
- Assignment: 13-week ICU travel nurse contract
- Start Date: October 1, 2026
- End Date: December 31, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Approximately three shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Orientation: Comprehensive competency validation, online education, and precepted unit orientation
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or a compact-state RN license
- At least 1 year of recent acute-care, ICU, progressive-care, or medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Demonstrated ability to care for patients requiring telemetry, oxygen titration, non-invasive ventilation, and complex medication management
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation, moderate sedation monitoring, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Flexibility to float to appropriate medical-surgical units based on patient census and staffing needs
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients with pneumonia, COPD, congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism, COVID-19, and other complex medical conditions
- Monitor and manage patients receiving oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilation
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate timely interventions
- Administer intravenous medications and provide safe, accurate medication management
- Monitor telemetry and support patients undergoing moderate sedation for procedures such as bronchoscopy
- Provide care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, and postoperative needs
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialty providers
- Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, effective transitions of care, and compassionate service
- Support a positive team environment through strong critical thinking, time management, communication, and clinical prioritization
