• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends
• Work Setting: On-site inpatient medical-surgical unit

Med-Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in an adult medical-surgical setting
• Current, unrestricted Oregon Registered Nurse license required at submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• American Heart Association ACLS certification required
• Medical-Surgical Nursing specialty certification is strongly encouraged
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced inpatient environment

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill adult medical-surgical patients
• Care for patients before and after emergent and elective surgical procedures
• Perform focused nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and recognize changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders and established standards
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse assistants, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, and discharge needs
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes
