Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Job Specialty: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract

- End Date: February 9, 2027
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically three shifts per week
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends as needed
- Call: None
- Department: 31-bed Emergency Department with two triage rooms
- Patient Population: Pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4, with adjustments based on patient acuity and department volume
- Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the assignment location to be considered for travel status
Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- Applicants with both ICU and Emergency Department experience may be considered
- Current Registered Nurse licensure appropriate for practice in Virginia
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- Current PALS or ENPC certification
- Handle with Care training as required; training may be available on-site
- Ability to care for patients across the lifespan in a high-volume acute care setting
- Strong emergency nursing, patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Professional, positive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to patient care
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients across a range of acuity levels
- Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Prioritize care for patients in triage, treatment areas, behavioral health settings, and acute care spaces
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Respond effectively to emergent and potentially life-threatening conditions
- Document patient care accurately using MedHost and Meditech electronic health record systems
- Support patient flow, admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
- Float within the Emergency Department as needed and maintain a safe, organized, patient-centered environment
