Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU/PICU Float Pool Travel Contract

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: NICU-Based Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, approximately 37.5 hours weekly, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required among the NICU, PICU, newborn nursery, and pediatric units, with assignments based on clinical competency
• Charting: Epic experience required
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2, based on acuity, census, and staffing
• Scrubs: Navy pants with a pediatric top

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of recent Registered Nurse experience
• Documented experience in a Level III NICU and PICU
• Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Recent Epic electronic health record documentation experience
• Demonstrated competency caring for neonates, including extremely premature and critically ill infants
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and float between pediatric critical care areas

Pediatric and Neonatal Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to neonates and pediatric patients in high-acuity settings
• Manage patients requiring ventilatory support, including AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and PEEP
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, implanted lines, UACs, and UVCs
• Administer and monitor IV vasopressors, steroids, surfactants, and other critical medications
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and changes in cardiopulmonary status
• Provide bottle, breast, and gavage feedings and manage oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Support patients experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
• Float to the PICU, newborn nursery, and pediatric units while accepting assignments appropriate to clinical skill set
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team
