Med/Surg Tele travel nurse opportunity in Chewelah, Washington, offering $1,850–$1,950 weekly and 12-hour rotating shifts in a critical access hospital. Travel Registered Nurse Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Chewelah, Washington
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Options: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Healthcare Setting: Medical-surgical telemetry unit within a critical access hospital
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4–6
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of every other weekend
- Float Requirement: May float between nearby sister hospitals based on census and staffing needs
- Call: Not required
- Scrubs: Any color
- Parking: Free
Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Washington; an active compact license must be in hand when applicable
- At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent hospital experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Epic electronic health record and computerized documentation experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience with oxygen protocols, noninvasive airway management, isolation precautions, peripheral and central line care, and rapid response activation
- Ability to float between nearby units or sister facilities as patient census requires
- Strong communication, organization, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including surgical patients and those with orthopedic injuries, infections, cellulitis, and wound care needs
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Administer medications, blood products, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed treatments safely
- Manage peripheral lines, PICCs, central lines, feeding tubes, chest tubes, wound vacs, and continuous bladder irrigation as indicated
- Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow oxygen, noninvasive airway management, or other respiratory interventions
- Complete accurate patient assessments, maintain timely Epic documentation, and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Participate in rapid response and code team activation when clinically indicated
- Promote safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care throughout the travel nursing assignment
