ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- At least 2 years of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Epic electronic medical record experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and complete a 36-hour weekly schedule
- Comfort with floating to another nearby facility when operationally needed
- Ability to successfully complete required orientation and clinical competency assessments
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments, manage complex care plans, and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in Epic.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and critical care nursing standards.
- Adapt to changing patient acuity and provide care at a nearby facility when floating is required.
