Hospice RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
- Location: Mesa, Arizona; service coverage within approximately a 60-mile radius
- Specialty: Hospice home health and end-of-life care
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, generally 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours
- On-Call Requirement: Weekday on-call rotation from approximately 4:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m.; rotation approximately every other week, with possible weekend rotation
- Contract Duration: Approximately 14 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 22, 2027
- Caseload: Up to 15 patients
- Travel Support: Mileage reimbursement between patient visits, from the first patient to the last patient
Hospice Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Arizona RN license or a valid compact-state RN license
- Associate degree in Nursing required
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in hospice or home health
- Recent experience with HCHB documentation is required
- Hospice nursing experience and familiarity with end-of-life care
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned coverage area and work independently in patients’ homes
- Professional, clean, and neat appearance; scrubs may be any color and must be free from tears, holes, fraying, wrinkles, or odors
Hospice Homecare RN Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate hospice nursing care in patients’ homes
- Manage a caseload of up to 15 patients while meeting established productivity expectations
- Perform comprehensive patient visits, admissions, death visits, follow-up assessments, and other required visit types
- Assess patient needs, monitor changes in condition, and coordinate appropriate interventions with the interdisciplinary hospice care team
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding symptom management, medications, the plan of care, and end-of-life support
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in HCHB
- Respond to on-call needs and provide support to patients and families during scheduled rotation periods
- Communicate effectively with providers, caregivers, and members of the hospice team to promote continuity and quality of care
