Join a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation team as a Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse in Greensboro, North Carolina. This travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, aneurysm, postoperative conditions, and generalized debility. Greensboro is a welcoming Triad-region city known for its vibrant arts scene, beautiful parks, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to surrounding North Carolina communities.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour night shifts
- Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every third weekend; holidays as needed
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
- Typical Patient Ratio: 1:6, with a rotating assignment of 1:7 at comparable acuity
- Documentation: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
- Float Requirement: Flexibility to float to other affiliated locations as needed
Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele, acute care, or inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current BLS certification
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG assessment
- Successful completion of the required compliance EKG examination
- Experience caring for patients with neurological and rehabilitation diagnoses preferred
- Ability to float and adapt to changing patient-care assignments
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions considered
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in an inpatient rehabilitation and Med/Surg Tele setting
- Monitor and care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, aneurysm, postoperative conditions, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
- Assess vital signs, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and perform ongoing cardiac and neurological assessments
- Administer medications and complete medication reconciliation
- Perform dressing changes and prepare aseptic or sterile procedure trays
- Collect, label, and process capillary, throat, and clean-catch urine specimens
- Complete phlebotomy, telephone triage, pharmacy calls, and patient refill requests as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory therapy, IV services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic while delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care
