Travel ICU RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
- Location: Springfield, Illinois
- Healthcare Setting: On-site Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: April 4, 2027
- Contract Duration: Approximately 24 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours per week, with potential for 48 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Additional Details: Registered Nurses may float between Cardiac Intensive Care and Medical ICU assignments. Requested time off should be provided when submitting an application.
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Experience caring for cardiac, medical, and/or surgical ICU patients
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and float between critical care units as needed
Cardiac ICU Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac open-heart surgeries
- Monitor and manage patients with complex medical and surgical ICU needs
- Perform ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and intervene promptly
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
- Float to the Medical ICU when needed while maintaining high-quality critical care practices
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care transitions
