Operating Room Nurse Job Details

Perioperative Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of perioperative nursing or operating room nursing experience
• Confident operating room circulating experience across multiple surgical service lines
• Comfort with both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities
• Ability to adapt to scheduling needs within a Monday-through-Friday operating room environment
• Experience in orthopedics, vascular, ENT, and/or neurosurgery is strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, communication, and patient-safety skills

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative experience
• Serve as an operating room circulator for a variety of surgical procedures and service lines
• Scrub for procedures as needed and support the surgical team according to operating room requirements
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and promote adherence to surgical safety standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Accurately document patient care, counts, specimens, and perioperative activities
• Provide responsive patient care while adjusting to changing procedural and operating room needs
