Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
• Healthcare Setting: Family Birthplace with LDRP and nursery responsibilities
• Location: On-site in Seneca, South Carolina
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Call and Float: Required; floating is limited to units where documented competencies are established
• Electronic Medical Record: At least 1 year of recent Epic experience required

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Lactation and STABLE certifications preferred or required per assignment compliance standards
• At least 1 year of recent Epic electronic medical record experience
• Experience caring for laboring patients, postpartum families, and neonates
• Ability to support every-other-weekend coverage and float to qualified units or campuses as needed
• Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, and travel nursing experience are preferred
• Current flu vaccination is required for the assignment

Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients in labor, including those with high-risk conditions such as preterm labor and preeclampsia
• Care for postpartum patients and newborns through couplet care, acute care nursery assignments, and sick nursery support
• Work within LDRP workflows and maintain appropriate patient ratios, including 1:1 labor care, 1:1 magnesium therapy care, and 1:2 care for Cytotec inductions
• Support OB triage, the circulator role, GYN surgery patients, and nursery responsibilities as competencies allow
• Provide care for patients experiencing fetal demise and those undergoing gynecologic procedures, including hysterectomy
• Perform newborn hearing screenings and support family-centered, Baby-Friendly care practices
• Use Omnicell medication systems and accurately document patient care in Epic
• Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary healthcare partners
• Float to other qualified units or campuses when requested and perform only duties supported by documented competencies
