Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New York
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in pediatric nursing
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Strong pediatric assessment, clinical judgment, and family-centered communication skills
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care in a fast-paced pediatric inpatient environment
- Willingness to support neonatal feeder-grower patients as needed
Pediatric RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients and their families
- Assess and monitor children with conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, RSV, and failure to thrive
- Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical standards and hospital policies
- Provide age-appropriate education and emotional support to patients, parents, and caregivers
- Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized pediatric care plans
- Assist with care for pediatric patients experiencing mental health concerns within the scope of practice
- Float to support neonatal feeder-grower care when operationally required
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote a positive, family-friendly patient experience
