Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week assignment in Sweetwater, Texas. Join a dedicated emergency care team in a rural West Texas Emergency Department and provide high-quality nursing care in an 8-bed Level IV Trauma Center with around-the-clock emergency medicine physicians. This Texas travel nursing opportunity combines meaningful clinical work with the welcoming atmosphere and scenic, wide-open landscapes of a close-knit West Texas community.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Healthcare Setting: 8-bed Emergency Department; Level IV Trauma Center
- Location: On-site in Sweetwater, Texas
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 6, 2026
- End Date: January 5, 2027
- Openings: 2
- Call: No call requirement
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
- Current TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
- Ability to provide safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely emergency interventions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Support the care of patients with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively during patient handoffs
- Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and continuity of care
