Travel Nursing Job Details

Med/Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
- At least 1 year of bedside clinical nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Medical-surgical nursing or inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work night shifts and meet every-other-weekend and holiday scheduling requirements
Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within established admission timeframes and develop individualized plans of care.
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Support patients and families through education related to diagnoses, treatment plans, safety, medications, and discharge needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation planning and communicate timely patient updates during team conferences.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and changes in condition accurately and promptly.
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and prepare patients and caregivers for a safe transition home or to the next level of care.
- Communicate changes in patient status to physicians, charge nurses, and other members of the care team to promote continuity and patient safety.
- Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and support to nursing assistants and other ancillary personnel.
- Promote safe patient handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, and a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Prioritize care, manage resources responsibly, and contribute to a positive, respectful, team-oriented unit culture.
- Assume charge responsibilities after orientation as requested and pursue ongoing professional development.
