PACU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Fort Myers, Florida
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,560-$1,640
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 30, 2027
- Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Call: Required
- Practice Setting: 24-bed Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Charting System: Epic
- Position Type: Travel nursing contract
PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure eligible for practice in Florida
- At least 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
- Recent ICU or Emergency Department experience may be considered when paired with strong PACU capabilities
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to provide degree accreditation verification; candidates with 5 years of relevant nursing experience may meet the experience alternative
- Prior travel nursing experience is highly preferred
- Flexibility to float and function as an integral member of the core nursing team
- Ability to complete required documentation by the designated deadline before the assignment begins
PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Monitor airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and pain status during post-anesthesia recovery
- Care for patients following primarily orthopedic and general surgical procedures
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions according to clinical standards
- Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses
- Coordinate patient care with anesthesia providers, surgeons, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
- Prepare patients for transfer or discharge using established recovery criteria
- Participate in required call coverage and float to support PACU operations as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold high standards of patient safety and professional nursing practice
