Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in New York State
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Emergency Room RN experience in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, triage, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work scheduled 12-hour evening shifts and maintain reliable attendance
• Successful completion of required clinical competency, documentation, and onboarding processes

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide timely, compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Perform focused patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and reassess patient responses
• Prioritize nursing care based on patient acuity and changing clinical needs
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Recognize clinical deterioration and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate members of the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care
