Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Location: Gainesville, Florida
- Nursing Specialty: Adult Emergency Department (ED/ER)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Scheduling: Variable days; weekends and holidays required; no block scheduling
- Work Environment: High-volume adult emergency department within a nationally recognized academic medical center
- Additional Expectations: Flexibility to float to other areas is required
- Time-Off Guidelines: No time off during the first two weeks; up to 10 days of approved time off may be permitted during the assignment
- Travel Requirement: Applicants must reside outside the applicable 50-mile local radius
Emergency Department Travel Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or a valid Compact RN license at the time of submission
- At least 3 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center; academic medical center experience is preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current PALS or ENPC certification
- TNCC certification preferred
- Recent experience with the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
- Successful completion of specialty-specific competency and EKG examinations, with a minimum score of 80% on each exam and accurate identification of lethal rhythms
- Professional work history with facility type, electronic medical record, and bed count documented where applicable
- At least one professional reference dated within the past 12 months
- Ability to explain employment gaps longer than 30 days
- Strong adaptability, communication skills, and willingness to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and floating assignments
Adult Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to adult emergency patients across a broad range of acuity levels
- Perform focused assessments, triage support, ongoing reassessments, and evidence-based emergency nursing interventions
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergent and life-threatening situations
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and document care accurately in EPIC
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly identify potentially lethal arrhythmias
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary departments, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Support trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurologic, and other emergency presentations within established protocols
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and care coordination
- Maintain compliance with department policies, professional standards, and applicable safety requirements
- Float as needed to support patient care operations and changing department needs
