- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,970-$2,080
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract

- Healthcare Setting: Adult medical-surgical stroke stepdown unit
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift: 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

- Additional Details: Floating is required; block scheduling is not guaranteed; navy blue scrubs are required
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York; verification of all active RN licenses is required
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience, including stroke stepdown experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required; certification may be completed before the start date
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records preferred
- Strong patient assessment, clinical prioritization, communication, and patient education skills
Medical-Surgical and Stroke Stepdown Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adults in a medical-surgical stroke stepdown environment
- Monitor and manage patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal disease, dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary conditions, and other complex diagnoses
- Perform neurological assessments and promptly recognize changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
- Care for patients requiring isolation precautions and coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Use IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes as part of patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Float to other units as required while maintaining safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
