Join a high-acuity PCU and cardiac stepdown team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Spokane, Washington. This 13-week travel nursing opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN skilled in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac and vasoactive drip management for adult and geriatric patients. Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160–$2,270
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Location: Spokane, Washington
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Unit: 42-bed progressive care unit (PCU) and cardiac stepdown unit
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3–4
- Charting: Epic experience required
- Floating: May float to telemetry or medical-surgical units when needed
Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
- At least 1 year of recent PCU, progressive care, stepdown, or cardiac nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic electronic health record and clinical documentation experience
- Strong cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Availability to work every other weekend and required holiday coverage, including 3 of 5 designated holidays
- Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and medical-surgical diagnoses, including congestive heart failure (CHF), atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, chest pain, and post-cardiac procedures
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry, and recognize changes in patient condition
- Safely manage and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin infusions according to protocol
- Care for patients before and after cardiac catheterization, cardiac angiography, and cardiac surgery
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, surgical drains, telemetry, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway support
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, IV services, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
- Float to telemetry or medical-surgical units when staffing needs require
