Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Lewisburg, PA

Join a collaborative hospital-based nursing team as a Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. This travel RN opportunity is ideal for an experienced Intermediate Care (IMC), progressive care, telemetry, or acute-care nurse who is comfortable caring for adults with complex medical-surgical and orthopedic conditions while floating between Cardiac Stepdown, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation units. Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,940
• Location: Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
• Healthcare Setting: On-site Cardiac Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: May float between Cardiac Stepdown, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation based on unit needs
• Time Off: Up to 7 days of requested time off is preferred
• Patient Population: Adults; approximately 24 beds with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in an IMC, progressive care, cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or comparable acute-care setting
• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Recent travel nursing experience is welcome but not required
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays
• Willingness to care for patients who may require isolation precautions, including patients with COVID-19
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and flexibility to float between departments

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in a Cardiac Stepdown and Intermediate Care environment
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and overall patient condition
• Care for patients with hip fractures, osteomyelitis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, bowel obstructions, renal failure, and other medical-surgical diagnoses
• Support patients recovering from total joint arthroplasties and spinal fusions
• Administer medications, including heparin and insulin therapies, and manage IV, PICC, feeding tube, wound, drain, and chest tube care as indicated
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, interpret relevant clinical data, document accurately in Epic, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Use appropriate oxygenation, noninvasive airway management, isolation, and emergency response protocols
• Float to Orthopedics and Rehabilitation units while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, and other healthcare support services
• Participate in holiday coverage, including working two of three designated major holiday periods when applicable
