• Shift: Night shift, approximately 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Work Setting: On-site, acute inpatient Progressive Care Unit

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent acute inpatient PCU, progressive care or intermediate care nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Kentucky
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive or intermediate-level monitoring and treatment.
• Perform and document patient assessments and reassessments according to policy and changes in condition.
• Develop, prioritize and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor patient responses to clinical interventions and promptly communicate changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical standards and procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, recovery and discharge planning.
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed team members and promote effective teamwork.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Serve as a resource, mentor or preceptor to colleagues as appropriate.
