Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 14, 2027
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: None
• Electronic Medical Record: Recent Epic experience required; an Epic checkoff class may be required
• Float Expectations: First to float within the RN's skill set; cross-campus float may be required with advance notice

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, including 1 solid year of cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or PCU experience
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience and completion of at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
• Current, active compact RN license
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• American Heart Association ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Associate degree or nursing certificate as required for the assignment
• Recent Epic charting experience
• Ability to successfully complete required telemetry testing
• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and adaptability skills

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and progressive care patients
• Care for patients with sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, and dementia, as well as surgical, urology, abdominal, and orthopedic conditions
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Initiate and titrate insulin, heparin, and cardiac infusions according to orders and clinical protocols
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, identify clinical deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly
• Manage telemetry-related care, blood product administration, chest tubes and drains, continuous BiPAP, CBI, and other applicable stepdown interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic
• Float within the assigned skill set and support patient care needs across designated areas when requested
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective, patient-centered care
• Demonstrate resilience, professionalism, and a team-oriented approach in a fast-paced clinical setting
