Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- 48-bed Cardiac PCU within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Treats cardiac diagnoses including PCI and pacemaker patients
- Administers cardiac medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
- Performs skills including IV therapy, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac care, CBI, trach care, and central line care
- RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
- Uses Epic EMR
- Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a
- 36 hours per week across 3 shifts, 12 hours per shift
- Every other weekend required per unit need
- Supported by an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM)
Requirements
- Active KY or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Works within a Practice Governance framework emphasizing evidence-based practice
- No local rate drop for candidates residing in the area
