Description
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and triage according to department protocols.
Initiate and manage emergency nursing interventions for critically ill and injured patients.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately.
Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and cardiac emergencies.
Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-acuity situations.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, EMS personnel, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and ancillary staff.
Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental education activities.
QualificationsEducation
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
Required Certifications
BLS Basic Life Support
ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 year emergency nursing experience preferred.
Previous experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred.
Strong communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.
Work Environment
29-bed Emergency Department serving patients across all age groups.
Fast-paced, high-acuity clinical setting requiring rapid decision-making and multitasking.
