Position Overview

A nationally recognized Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Patient Care - Critical Care Services. This clinical leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight for multiple critical care service lines, including ICU, ICU Stepdown, and Neurosciences.

The Executive Director will drive clinical excellence, patient safety, operational performance, staff development, and strategic growth across assigned departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Critical Care, ICU Stepdown, and Neuroscience services
  • Develop and execute patient care and operational strategies
  • Drive quality, safety, patient flow, and performance improvement
  • Oversee staffing, recruitment, retention, and leadership development
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance
  • Collaborate with physicians and executive leadership
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and patient experience

Requirements

  • Active RN license; Maryland license or eligibility required
  • Master's degree required; DNP preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience, ideally within Critical Care
  • BLS certification
  • Strong operational, financial, and clinical leadership experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and patient safety practices
