Your Role as an Occupational Therapist
In this role, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services that help patients safely and confidently perform everyday activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluate patients to determine rehabilitation needs, functional potential, and develop individualized plans of care
Conduct initial therapy evaluations and ongoing reassessments according to OASIS and PPS regulatory guidelines
Implement and adjust treatment plans to ensure quality outcomes and continuity of care
Communicate patient progress, significant findings, and changes in condition to physicians and the care team
Educate patients and caregivers on activities of daily living (ADLs) using adaptive equipment, sensory integration techniques, and fine motor coordination exercises
Assist patients and caregivers with obtaining necessary equipment, including custom splint fabrication when appropriate
Develop and teach home therapy programs with modifications as needed
Provide counseling and guidance to patients and families regarding therapy goals and care needs
Supervise and provide clinical direction to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), Home Health Aides (HHA), and other clinical staff
Ensure documentation meets professional standards, physician orders, and regulatory guidelines
This role may involve a physically active and fast-paced environment, including patient transfers and travel between patient homes.
What is Required
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a clinical care setting
Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned branch/office coverage area
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
Ability to lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including patient transfers and equipment movement
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee.
