Great, medium sized traveler-friendly facility. Level II Trauma Center. Great, medium sized traveler-friendly facility. Located at the geographic and economic hub for central and western Maine. Rehabilitation strives to assist individuals who have experienced a catastrophic illness or injury relearn or develop the skills to live as independently as possible after leaving the hospital. Acute inpatient rehabilitation consists of at least three to five hours of therapy per day, five days a week. The unit has 13 beds and the patient ratio is 1:6 or 7 with additional charge on days for 8 hours and 2 CNAs for 12 hours. This Hospital provides services on an inpatient basis for people with the following conditions: Brain Injury, Multiple Trauma, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Joint Replacements, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Injuries, Arthritis, Amputation, Burns. Our approach to care: · An individualized treatment program is developed for each patient based on an evaluation at time of admission. · The treatment team may consist of a physiatrist, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, a social worker, and a neurophysiologist. Program goals may include: · Increased independence with the activities of daily living · Increased mobility · Home evaluation · Patient and family education Rehabilitative nursing services may include: · Wound management · Bowel and bladder management including ostomy care · Management of tracheostomy or other respiratory conditions · Management of nutrition including enteral and parenteral approaches · Cardiac teaching · Pain management · Care for patients with orthopedic disorders - Support of interdisciplinary treatment modalities · Care and teaching for patients with brain injury and stroke · Holistic nursingFacility
