All patient rooms are private, with one room designated as a reverse air flow room. Nine rooms are hard-wired to accommodate continuous epilepsy monitoring which is a program unique to 9 West. The floor also manages Medical Stroke patients and general neurology patients including diagnosis such as Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, seizures and strokes managed medically. 9 West supports Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center programs and accreditation. We support our sister units and care for overflow of neurosurgical patients and spine surgeries as well. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September. Locals will be considered at a lower BR Previous perm staff(this includes PRN) must be separated from the MUSC system for 1 year before returning as a traveler. South Carolina RN License: MUSC will prioritize candidates that have SC license in hand. We will still consider candidates with a pending license at the time of submission please provide proof that they have applied for the license or confirm that they can complete the SC walk-through process. Traveler will not be cleared to report to the facility until SC license is issued/active. RTO GUIDELINE FOR AUTO OFFERS: If a candidate is a clinical PASS, the account manager can auto offer a traveler that has 7 days or less of NON-HOLIDAY RTO. Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holidays will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process We can only submit to one MUSC unit/campus at a time.
