Accepts responsibility for direction ofco-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation ofcare. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance to the establishedFMC policies, procedures and guidelines. JobQualifications Education: Associate degree in nursing.Bachelor s degree in nursing preferred. Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in theState of Ohio. CPR required. Experience: Previous Registered Nursingexperience preferred. EssentialJob Functions JobExpectations and Responsibilities: 4. Assesses, plans, implementsand evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process. Provides quality care based on assessmentneeds and established plan of care/pathway. Provides education for the patient andfamily/significant other from admission through discharge process. Provides thorough, concise, accurate andlegible documentation of the nursing process/pathway. Notifies physician of pertinentobservations and changes in the status of the patient. Administers medications and performs treatmentsin an accurate safe manner. Implements physician orders as written. Assures equipment and supplies are readilyavailable for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department.Physical Capacity DemandHeavy Work: Exerting50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess ofthose for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity. JobConsiderations Psychological/Mental Positionrequires ability to regulate emotions and exercise self-control in theworkplace. Must be able to manage urgent situations calmly. Ability tocommunicate empathically with patients and demonstrate genuine care and concernfor their welfare. Display confidence with being assertive in interpersonalsituations. Supervise and direct the work of NAs in a professional manner. Mayexperience stress related to time management challenges and working with individualswho may be in pain, confused, and/or agitated. Physiological-Potential Exposures: Electricalequipment Cognitive - Position requires intact cognitive function in theareas of attention, memory, perception, and thought. Ability to prioritize worktasks when multiple issues need attention. Keen observation and accuratereporting skills. Strong organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solvingskills needed.
