Duties include, but are not limited to, assessing the respiratory status of individuals of all ages, emergency response, mechanical ventilation, invasive and noninvasive procedures, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, maintaining the arterial blood gas system, and patient transport. Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines are the standard of care for which therapy is based on for all modalities. Patient populations will include: neonatal, pediatric, adults, geriatric. Will be required to care for patients from the ER, Birthing Center, Surgical Unit, PCU (high acuity)Patients may have RSV, asthma, sleep apnea, COPD and RRT will need to perform oxygen checks, nebulizor treatments, and will be required to handle rapid responses and medical emergencies.
